The Arc of San Diego’s CEO Anthony DeSalis Selected as Finalist for CEO of the Year Awards



San Diego, CALIF – The Arc of San Diego is proud to announce that its CEO Anthony J. DeSalis, Esq. was selected as a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s 2019 CEO of the Year Awards in the Nonprofit Organization category.

This award honors local industry leaders for their achievements within their companies and in the community. The honorees are lauded for demonstrating determination and insight that yields huge successes for their organizations.

“I am proud to be selected as a finalist for this award with so many other prominent industry leaders,” said DeSalis. “It is great to be recognized by the business community for the important work that we do to empower individuals with disabilities.”

Anthony J. DeSalis, Esq. has been serving as President & CEO of The Arc of San Diego since 2017, but has worked for the organization for more than 35 years. Under DeSalis’s leadership this past year, The Arc of San Diego saw many highlights including the completion of its $4.5 million Building for Self Sufficiency Capital Campaign, supporting renovations to The Sol and Ruth Gerber Family Center in Chula Vista. Solar panels were installed on The Arc’s Sulpizio Family Center building at 3030 Market St, which will result in approximately $40,000 in savings annually. Additionally, construction began on Mel’s Kitchen at Our Place Café located at North Shores Vocational Center, which will create opportunities for in-house commercial food service training for clients at the center.

Apart from his accomplishments in the past year, DeSalis has made it his life’s work to support and empower people with disabilities. His compassion for helping people is evident not only from his time with the organization but in the actions he has completed already during his tenure as President & CEO.
