The Arc of San Diego is proud to congratulate our very own Kirk Conrad Dela Cruz, Director of Employment Services, for being named a 2025 Finalist for the San Diego Business Journal’s 40 Next Top Business Leaders Under 40!

This prestigious recognition honors young professionals who are making significant contributions to their industries and communities; and Kirk is a shining example of that impact. Since joining The Arc of San Diego in 2021, Kirk has led transformative growth in our employment services, expanding access to inclusive job opportunities for individuals with disabilities across San Diego County.

Under his leadership, Employment Services at The Arc has seen remarkable success:

  • Nearly 400 individuals with disabilities earned over $5.2 million in wages in 2024 alone.
  • Significant increases in job placements, program intakes, and contract development.
  • A strengthened commitment to inclusive employment and long-term workforce support.

Kirk oversees multiple programs that provide job training, placement, and ongoing employment support—empowering individuals to thrive in meaningful careers. His work is deeply personal and purpose-driven, inspired by his sister with a disability.

Before joining The Arc of San Diego, Kirk spent eight years as a special education teacher in Virginia and served as a Special Olympics coach and Leadership Teacher. He holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from Penn State, an M.A. in Special Education from George Mason University, and a DEI Certificate from Cornell University.

Kirk’s dedication to employment equity, inclusion, and empowerment is helping shape a more inclusive workforce across San Diego. We couldn’t be more proud to have him on our team!
