President & CEO Anthony DeSalis Celebrates 40 Years with The Arc of San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – The Arc of San Diego’s President & CEO Anthony J. DeSalis, Esq., recently celebrated his 40th anniversary with the organization. Since starting as a Direct Support Professional with the company in 1982, DeSalis has made it his life’s work to support and empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. From there he worked his way up to Workshop Manager, to Area Director, to Chief Operations Officer, to President & CEO in 2017.

Under DeSalis’ leadership, The Arc of San Diego completed a $4.5 million Capital Campaign which provided funding for crucial renovations to The Arc of San Diego’s center in Chula Vista. DeSalis has overseen the expansion and commencement of many transformative programs, including The Arc of San Diego’s Employment Services, Community Inclusion Services, Supported Living Services, and Our Place Wellness Enrichment Program, among others. Despite the unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, DeSalis was able to find innovative solutions to ensure The Arc of San Diego operated with the highest quality of services and support for every client.

Throughout his career, DeSalis has tirelessly advocated for the betterment of the disability community. He is committed to promoting and protecting the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and is constantly looking for new ways to raise awareness about the importance of funding for disability services. DeSalis has traveled to Sacramento to meet with state legislators, organized rallies and press conferences, and met with elected officials numerous times throughout his career.
