Our Place Social Recreation Program; Where You Belong Just As You Are
The Arc of San Diego’s Our Place Wellness Center is all about creating opportunities for connection, creativity, and wellness.
Our Place offers yoga, fitness, dance, nutrition, and social recreation activities that focus on the mental, emotional, and physical health and healing. Founded by Dr. Paul Kurtin, who served for 17 years as Chief Quality and Safety Officer and the Director of the Sadler Center for Quality at Rady Children's Hospital, Our Place reflects The Arc’s commitment to fostering inclusion, personal growth, and overall wellness for people with disabilities.
The Arc of San Diego is partnering with Stay Social to offer fun and creative recreational opportunities for neurodiverse adults in San Diego County. These programs have been designed to help individuals expand their social networks, explore personal interests, and engage in meaningful community experiences.
In Fall 2025, participants enjoyed activities like interactive games, dance classes, art and creative expression, fitness and wellness sessions, and festive celebrations such as a Halloween costume party and a Friendsgiving talent showcase. Each event is crafted to encourage social interaction, teamwork, and personal growth.
The Fall 2025 program ran from September through November 2025 on select Saturdays at The Sol and Ruth Gerber Family Center. The program is free for clients of the San Diego Regional Center.
The Spring 2026 program is in full swing and sessions will run from January to June on select Saturdays.
