Supported Living for Adults with Disabilities

The Arc of San Diego's Supported Living Services (SLS) supports people with intellectual disabilities in their desire to live on their own and be an active part of their local community. Supported Living Professionals help clients identify resources and teach daily living skills essential to improving the quality of one's life. Clients receive support in finding affordable housing and roommates, acquiring household furnishings, paying the rent and bills, cooking healthy meals, using public transportation, and accessing medical and dental services. Staff work one-on-one with each individual, providing direction and guidance based on each person's needs.

Supported Living Services offers training in person-centered planning, household and  money management, health and personal safety, and accessing community resources and recreational activities.  Individual Service Plans for Supported Living Services clients are developed to secure personal independence while ensuring the health and safety of each client at home and in the community.
