Residential Homes for Adults with Disabilities

At The Arc of San Diego we have several residential homes throughout the county to provide housing for people with disabilities. In each home, person-centered supports are established to promote an enriched quality of life. Individual choice is encouraged and the right to privacy and dignity is honored. A primary goal of Residential Services is to maximize the independence of our residents. To that end, professionally trained staff are available to help the residents learn new skills and fully participate in day-to-day activities including cooking, money management, house cleaning, self-care, laundry, shopping, and other community activities.

In addition, The Arc has the following consultative staff available to enable our residents to realize their individual potential and achieve their personal goals:

Licensed Professional Services

  • 24-hour on call nursing staff
  • Dietician
  • Physical Therapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech Therapists
  • Medical Doctors
  • Psychiatrists

Residents are involved in a variety of fun and engaging activities as a regular part of their day. Staff often accompany residents on shopping trips, dining out, bowling, attending street faires and farmers' markets, and visiting area attractions such as SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Mission Bay, and Balboa Park, among others.

We have homes in the communities of Kearny Mesa, National City, Chula Vista, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Lakeside and Santee. Learn more about our homes here.
