Activities for Adults with Disabilities
Leisure Express Local
Leisure Express Local gives teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to access recreation therapy activities locally! Participants are given the chance to meet new people, spend time with old friends, and enjoy all the fun that San Diego offers. Our goals are to promote independence, health and wellness, social skills, communication, confidence, inclusion, and self-esteem. Activities are planned and organized each month, and we typically maintain a 1:4 staff-to-participant ratio. Some of the activities include: seeing a movie and dining out with friends, going to see the Padres play at Petco Park, kayaking, rock climbing, arts & crafts, dances, and joining in on community events like The Wheelchair Regatta, December Nights, and the San Diego County Fair.
