New York Life Supports Adults with Disabilities at The Arc of San Diego
San Diego, CALIF- New York Life presented a check for $10,000 to benefit individuals with disabilities at The Arc of San Diego. This gift was made possible by employees of New York Life who participated in a virtual walk to support The Arc of San Diego. This contribution was provided in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Held each October, NDEAM is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the contributions of America's workers with disabilities.
The Arc of San Diego provides employment support, from vocational training to job placement, to more than 600 adults with disabilities annually. The funding from New York Life will assist with these services and other programs at The Arc of San Diego.
Alex Tenorio receives employment support from The Arc of San Diego for her job at AMC 20 Theaters in Mission Valley.
“I enjoy working because it gives me independence,” said Alex. “Earning a paycheck allows me to do things with my friends and family.”
