CARF Defined
An organization seeking CARF accreditation in the area of employment services provides individualized services to achieve identified employment outcomes.
The design of an organization’s employment services considers the goals of the persons receiving services, the personnel needs of the employers in the local job market, the community resources available, and the trends and economic considerations in the employment sector.
The organization maintains its leadership role in the employment sector of the community by designing and continually improving its services based on input from the persons receiving services, input from employers in the local job market, and the results of the organization’s outcomes management system.
EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
The Arc of San Diego's Employment Services received the Mutual of America Community Partnership Award and was a key player in the Marine Corps Major General W.P.T. Hill Award, twice received by the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD)in recognition of its Food Services Program.
Employment Services has employed people with disabilities to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to thousands of recruits at the MCRD Mess Hall since 2002. During the busiest times, 275 employees with disabilities service up to 18,000 meals each day at the Nation's largest mess hall.

MUTUAL OF AMERICA COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP AWARD
The Arc of San Diego's ACES received the Mutual of America Community Partnership Award in 2006.
The Mutual of America Community Partnership Award recognizes outstanding nonprofit organizations in the United States that have shown exemplary leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private or social sector leaders who are working together as equal partners, not as donors and recipients, to build a cohesive community that serves as a model for collaborating with others for the greater good.
MARINE CORPS MAJOR GENERAL W.P.T. HILL MEMORIAL AWARD
The Arc of San Diego's ACES program was a vital component to the Marine Corps Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Award received by the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in 2007 and 2008.
The Hill Memorial Awards Program for Food Service Excellence is a means to recognize those Marine Corps mess halls that are outstanding in the preparation and service of food, superior in service to the customer, and effectively manage per governing directives. It is co-sponsored by the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the National Restaurant Association (NRA), a food service professional organization comprised of distinguished industry executives. The Food Service employees at MCRD are provided through The Arc and are responsible for serving recruits and maintaining the facility to meet military sanitation requirements.
