NDEAM 2024: The Arc Advocates for Inclusive Employment Opportunities for All
The Arc of San Diego is proud to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) in October 2024. This annual observance honors the contributions of workers with disabilities across America and emphasizes the importance of inclusive employment policies and practices. The U.S. Department of Labor has designated the 2024 theme as ‘Access to Jobs for All,’ recognizing the essential role that people with disabilities play in creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
The Arc of San Diego’s Employment Services offers individuals with disabilities opportunities to achieve their career aspirations through meaningful employment in a wide range of industries throughout San Diego County. Each year, more than 400 individuals receive support from The Arc’s Employment Services. These services are pivotal in transforming lives by bridging the gap between individuals with disabilities and employers, fostering a more inclusive and equitable community. For those facing employment barriers, The Arc provides a pathway to independence and self-sufficiency through tailored support, job training, and placement services, helping clients gain the skills and confidence needed for employment.
