Ed Plank Presented with Frank B. Lalor Award
Ed Plank, a San Diego resident, was presented with the Frank B. Lalor Award from The Arc of San Diego, one of the county’s largest non-profits serving people with disabilities, at their Annual Meeting in June 2024. He was recognized for his remarkable commitment to supporting The Arc of San Diego’s mission to support and empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their life goals.
Plank is a retired engineer who spent his career in consulting, research and city administration. He worked in the offices of San Diego’s city managers and mayors for over two decades. Since Plank’s retirement from the city of San Diego, he has been a community volunteer in the classroom at the Sulpizio Family Center, past Board Chair of the City Chapter Advisory Board, and serves as a member-at-large on the Arc of San Diego Board of Directors. Ed currently services as chair of our strategic planning committee and was instrumental in leading efforts for the finalization of The Arc of San Diego’s current strategic plan. The Arc of San Diego is grateful for Plank’s past six years of service to the organization.
Each year, the Frank B. Lalor Award is presented to an outstanding volunteer at The Arc of San Diego. Named to honor Mr. Lalor, a longtime supporter and worked tirelessly for our organization, this award is presented to a volunteer who exhibits much strength, determination, and leadership. The Arc of San Diego is proud to recognize Ed Plank as recipient of the Frank B. Lalor Award.
Congratulations Ed! The Arc of San Diego is immensely grateful for your generosity and leadership as a volunteer!
