Staff Spotlight: Cyndi Herendeen
Please join The Arc of San Diego in welcoming Cyndi Herendeen as Director of Community Inclusion Services. In September 2021, Cyndi joined The Arc of San Diego’s Adult Day Programs team. Prior to joining The Arc of San Diego, Cyndi spent 16 years in management at Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association, which serves individuals with disabilities by enriching their lives through meaningful recreation experiences. She is eager to continue creating meaningful experiences that embody The Arc’s core values of People First, Person-Centered thinking.
In Cyndi’s role as Director of Community Inclusion Services, she looks forward to creating opportunities for each individual to be engaged, contributing members of their community. She believes this is possible through teamwork, trust, and continued dedication to the clients, staff and stakeholders. Cyndi is enjoying getting to know her team and witnessing first-hand how The Arc of San Diego empowers individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals.
A Southern California native, Cyndi is excited to be back in sunny California and close to her large family. She is especially happy to be out of the cold midwestern climate. Cyndi holds a degree from California State University Long Beach with a certificate in Therapeutic Recreation as well as a leadership certification through Aurora University’s MBA program. In her free time, she likes to go to the beach, paint, do yoga, and spend time with her family.
