Meet Bill Moore
Bill's years working at The Arc of San Diego have been a remarkable journey marked by dedication, humor, and a strong work ethic. His association with The Arc goes back in time, but in 2014 he became a part of the North County janitorial staff. On December 29, 2023 Bill officially retired from this position.
As a member of the janitorial staff, Bill's daily routine revolved around a range of tasks, including trash disposal, restroom cleaning, mopping, dusting, and maintaining an overall clean and welcoming environment. His meticulous nature was evident in his insistence on keeping things in their proper place – a trait that reflects his commitment to excellence.
At 81 years old, Bill defied conventional expectations about retirement. Bill's commitment to his job was evident in his consistent work ethic. His passion for his work and the camaraderie with his coworkers was unwavering. Bill is proud that “everybody comes here and says this is the cleanest place”. Donna, Bill’s job coach, attests to his amazing qualities – he never argues with staff, maintains a respectful demeanor, and has a consistent and willing attitude. His energy and enthusiasm for social settings keep him going, highlighting the importance of community in his life. His humor adds a light and jovial atmosphere to his workplace.
The Arc of San Diego's North County Chapter Advisory Board celebrated his hard work and dedication with a retirement party in December 2023! Bill's impact on the cleanliness and positive atmosphere of The Arc North County is evident, and his legacy will undoubtedly be remembered and appreciated by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
