RAISE FUNDS FOR BUILDING
Saturday, April 12 – 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. – 1280 Nolan Avenue, Chula Vista SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – The Arc of San Diego, a local not-for-profit and one of the region’s largest human-service agencies, is holding a giant yard sale on Saturday, April 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 1280 Nolan Avenue in Chula Vista. Proceeds from the sale are earmarked for rebuilding the Starlight Center and to better provide for the needs of the people with developmental disabilities in the South Bay. The giant yard sale will include furniture, appliances, dishes, glassware, linens, jewelry, décor items, books, toys, hand-crafted gifts and a large variety of sewing and craft supplies, all to be sold at sensationally low prices. The Arc of San Diego is the largest, most comprehensive provider of services to people with disabilities and was founded in 1951 by parents concerned about the lack of services for children with disabilities. It has since grown to seven major centers, thirteen group homes, and one respite house. Arc directly impacts the lives of more than 2,500 people with disabilities throughout San Diego County. The Starlight Center serves the people with disabilities in the communities of Chula Vista and the South Bay and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF, which stands as a symbol of commitment to the highest quality of service. |
