THE ARC OF SAN DIEGO RECEIVES $20,000 MATCHING GRANT FROM CHAIRWOMAN PAM SLATER-PRICE & COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – The Arc of San Diego announces they are the recipients of a $20,000 matching fund grant award from Chairwoman Pam Slater-Price and the County of San Diego. This grant will be matched dollar for dollar to provide funding to purchase a van with wheelchair accessibility for use by Arc’s North County Training Center in Vista.

“I am pleased to support The Arc of San Diego,” said Chairwoman Slater-Price.  “For the past 54 years, they have been providing vital services to people with disabilities.  I appreciate the opportunity to assist The Arc to help them continue to provide reliable transportation to those in need.”

The grant was allocated from the county’s Community Projects grant program.  Individuals in Arc’s day programs, community employment groups, and senior programs at North County Training Center will benefit from this funding.  They will be traveling to and from their work sites and volunteer jobs as well as recreation opportunities such as shopping excursions and trips to restaurants.

“On behalf of The Arc of San Diego, I would like to express our gratitude to Chairwoman Slater-Price for her support for our organization and strong commitment to improving services for people with disabilities,” said C.E. Skip Covell, President & CEO, The Arc of San Diego.

The Arc of San Diego was founded in 1951 by parents concerned about the lack of services for children with developmental disabilities. Arc directly impacts the lives of more than 2,000 children and adults with disabilities throughout San Diego County.
