THE ARC OF SAN DIEGO CELEBRATES ANNUAL FUNDRAISER AT THE OLD GLOBE
SAN DIEGO, CALIF – The Arc of San Diego is hosting their annual fundraiser Night at The Old Globe & The Prado in Balboa Park on Friday, March 3, 2006. As one of the largest fundraising events of the year for The Arc of San Diego, patrons will be able to enjoy a reception at The Prado and performance of the Broadway-bound world premiere musical event, THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN’. This exciting new musical is conceived, directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp (Movin' Out) and told through the legendary songs of one of America's most renowned musicians, Bob Dylan. A classic coming-of-age tale of generational conflict, THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN' is an electrifying collision of two groundbreaking artists’ legacies. The Arc of San Diego is one of San Diego’s largest human-service agencies. Founded in 1951 by a determined group of people who felt they had to “do something” for children with mental retardation, Arc now serves more than 2,500 children and adults with disabilities throughout San Diego County. Proceeds from this event will enhance vital services and quality programs for children and adults with disabilities and enable Arc to continue promoting social, economic, and personal independence for those they serve. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception at The Prado in Balboa Park followed by the performance at 8:00 p.m. at the world-famous Old Globe Theatre. Marc Bailey, Fox 6 Morning News Anchor, will be the Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are $150.00 per person. For more information and reservations, please contact Jennifer Navarra or Rhonda Handy at (858) 715-3780. Special thanks to sponsors Jon & Linda Kurtin, Driver Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. & FCE Benefit Administrators, Inc., QUALCOMM, San Diego Gas & Electric Company, Paul & Janice Gilbert, Gerald & Ingrid Hansen, Frazee Paint, First National Bank of San Diego, Clelland & Company, Inc., Jim Davis-National Certified, Inc., Catalina Restaurant Group, Inc., Ron Blair, Leaf & Cole, North Island Credit Union, and Digital Divide Fund at The San Diego Foundation for their generous support. # # # |
