Academy Award Nominee and Director to Host Private Screening

 

WHAT:          Private film screening of Body & Soul: Diana & Kathy for consumers and friends of The Arc of San Diego. Directed by Academy Award nominee Alice Elliott, this film allows a look into a mysterious relationship of two women with disabilities who have broken the rules, escaped the system and modeled a grand experiment in independent living.

                       

                        During the past five years, Elliott was allowed extraordinary access to Diana and Kathy’s lives in order to chronicle their ongoing struggle to live independently outside of institutions and introduce mainstream audiences to a way of life rarely seen on screen.

                        12:45 p.m. – Q & A with Alice Elliott, director, Diana & Kathy, stars of the film

§  Diana and Kathy will be available to offer further insight into their lives and struggle for independence

§  Alice Elliott, the film’s director, will also be available for interviews

§  The intimate screening is for more than 50 adult consumers with  disabilities and friends of The Arc of San Diego in attendance
