THE ARC
OF SAN DIEGO ANNOUNCES ANNE HOFFMAN AS PRESIDENT & CEO
San Diego, Calif.- The Arc of San Diego,
a local nonprofit committed to supporting people with disabilities, announces
that it has selected Anne Hoffman as the new President & CEO for the
organization. Ms. Hoffman was selected following an extensive executive
search process.
"I am pleased to announce that the Board of
Directors has chosen Anne Hoffman as President & CEO of The Arc of San Diego,"
said Tom Harmon, Board Chair. "Anne’s background working with nonprofit
organizations as well as her leadership, compassion, and vision, will greatly
benefit The Arc of San Diego as our organization continues to grow. Her
experience and track record will be a very valuable asset in our efforts to
improve and expand Arc’s programs for children and adults with disabilities.”
Over
the last year, Jeff Wiemann has served as Interim President & CEO and provided
assistance in leading The Arc of San Diego while the Board conducted a search to
find a candidate to fill the position permanently.
Ms. Hoffman joins The Arc of San Diego with over 30 years
experience in human services and fund development. She most recently
served as a Director of the San Diego Imperial Council of the Boy Scouts of
America.
“I was interested in working with The Arc of San
Diego because of their longtime commitment to serving our community,” said
Hoffman. “Having a mother who is legally blind—I understand firsthand the
challenges facing people with disabilities and their families. I am
committed to making life better for those served by The Arc of San Diego.”
Ms. Hoffman previously has served as vice
president of fund development at Sharp Healthcare’s Foundation. She also
worked for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Hoffman holds a B.A.
in Sociology and a Public Administration Minor from San Diego State University.
The Arc of San Diego is the largest, most comprehensive provider of services to
people with disabilities in San Diego County. It was founded in 1951 by parents
concerned about the lack of services for children with disabilities. The Arc of
San Diego now directly impacts the lives of more than 2,500 children and adults
with disabilities by providing services at 22 locations.
