In addition to respite services, education, employment, parenting and leisure services, the Arc of San Diego also administers 13 Residential teaching Programs throughout the county of San Diego. These programs provide housing for six adults in each home and provide instruction in independent living skills and activities of daily living.
Residential Aides and Instructors assist residents with all activities of daily life to include: teaching and supervision of meal preparation, household chores, leisure activities, socialization skills, medication dispensing, personal hygiene, safety, budgeting, crisis management and communication skills providing 24 hour supervision and continuous active treatment.
No Experience is required for the positions of Community Job Coach, Instructor, and Residential Specialist. All Community Living positions require the ability to successfully complete all required paid pre-employment training, present a valid California driver’s license and DMV report showing eligibility to be insured for driving an Arc vehicle. The use of your own vehicle is not required. An efficient and reliable means of transportation to and from work is required. Fingerprinting and FBI clearance is required.
